Epiphany on My Birthday

Last week I celebrated my birthday! In 2021 my birthday looked a little different than years past. I am overseas for one thing, but mandatory masks are putting a damper on my memories! In addition to my Birthday, Italy also celebrated a holiday called Epiphany. Initially I didn't want to share my day with any other holidays but then I did some research... Epiphany is a Catholic holiday celebrating the manifestation of Christ as the son of God to the Gentiles. If I had to share my day with anyone, I feel ok sharing it with Jesus LOL.
I also kinda like the fact that it's called Epiphany which by definition means "a moment of sudden and great revelation or realization." I typically use my birthday as a day to regroup mentally and be grateful for the past year. With everything being closed for an Italian national holiday and being stuck at home due to a code red Covid-19 lockdown, I had plenty of time for revelation and realization.
I had an epiphany that I am making mental adjustments for my life in Italy right now, for my career path and for my health. I realized that I'm one of the people in the world who are too rigid in my thought process. I can't seem to change my ideas and plans when they don't go the way I thought they would. In this next year of life that has to stop. I welcome all who read this to join my "year of adjustment" no matter where you are in your journey to find joy. Be still with your thoughts, search for your own epiphany and once you have a revelation, follow through to make adjustments to improve your life.
Just because you've always thought a certain way about something, doesn't mean that your thought is your own. Society and our parents can sometimes craft thoughts in our minds from an early age. Challenge the things that you know to be true, the norms you're used to and adjust your way of thinking and watch a new world open up to you and a new frequency of positivity flow through you. Make adjustments in 2021 that will be with you all the rest of your days! I will be doing the same. Good Luck!
